I think if ALT1 is to be used, it will need to be revised as the abbreviations seem to be obscure outside of India. A suggestion I could give could be to mention their names in full instead of just the abbreviations. ALT0 could work on its own, but additional context may need to be provided to let international readers know the importance of the Indian Civil Service. The article was new and long enough when nommed. A few issues with the article, though, specifically that it is only one section, half of which is a list that would be better if expanded (not even necessarily as prose, just expanded). Further, only one source (Whispers in the Corridors) is widely accessible – and I would like to know more on if this is reliable. (Why? Well, it claims to be India's most trusted and reliable source on its website, but this seems like a self-aggrandizing statement because things like The Times of India exist, and I would doubt whether a website claiming something so obviously false about their own stature can holds much reliability; I also can't find it mentioned elsewhere when searching the Internet, nor on Wikipedia. Note that the website also looks like 2005 spam. I know nothing else about it, but if you can show it's reliable, I'll take it.) Because of these issues, I can't safely say that anything is reliably sourced, but will take the other sources in good faith because I at least recognize the publishers. However, neither of the hooks are suitable, either. The first one is mostly just an explanation of what the ICS is, and also uses a redirect to the main article. The issues with the second hook are outlined above. Perhaps a better hook would be that he studied at both Oxford and Cambridge, which will also be understood internationally? These institutions are also so big it shouldn't be hard to find a reliable source. Based on the number of issues, this is a possible vote, but the creator/nominator does a lot of good work so it shouldn't be too difficult to improve, I hope. - No. If anything, it's made it worse. Rather than addressing the issues, a new paragraph was added with a new source. While this new source is reliable (check), there's a few instances of copying exact phrases and others of close paraphrasing. ALT2 in interesting, given the idea that monks are peaceful, but the article still needs work, IMO. Kingsif (talk) 15:20, 23 April 2020 (UTC)
